Meet the Sisters

Ashley has loved telling stories for as long as she can remember. Born and raised in the suburbs of Chicago, she discovered her passion for writing after winning her first short story competition in fifth grade—and she’s been creating stories ever since.

She earned her B.A. in English Literature with an emphasis in Creative Writing from San Francisco State University and has written for local newspapers. Before becoming a mom, Ashley spent nearly 20 years coaching gymnastics. The lessons she learned and the meaningful relationships she built with her athletes continue to inspire many of the stories she tells today.

She is also the co-founder of Between Two Cities Publishing. Two Cities began as a conversation and dream alongside her sister, who she feels so lucky to share such a close relationship with. Both sisters wanted to create heartfelt children’s books that help families navigate meaningful, sometimes messy, topics with hope, honesty, and a little bit of magic. Both believe children are capable of understanding big ideas when they’re shared with warmth, kindness, and imagination.

When she’s not writing children’s books, Ashley is hard at work on her debut adult novel, which she hopes to publish soon.

Ashley lives in San Francisco with her husband and their three children, who inspire many of the stories she tells. Together, they spend their days reading books, exploring new places, making big messes, and finding adventure in everyday life. When she isn’t writing, you’ll likely find her planning her family’s next trip or searching for the best meal in town.
